C Beaumier, et al, are a succinct window to a future lessened by political calculations within budget. That same budget has impacts upon the potentials within microbiology and chemistry as graduate and post graduate students seek full support in research. A serving US service member stationed in zones of known transmission may have real need of medical care of such expertise as is no longer available in a diminishing timeline.
Studies within drug formulary towards these disease forms as mention in the text have rising hurdles....rising costs.
It is interesting that WHO, has established specific goals, towards several of the complex disease treatments mentioned within the text. Clearly, the larger world has benefited from the particular care towards tropical medicine in past complex conflicts. That support, vanishing, has such larger implications in health....and morbidity.....that poor decision process demonstrated in the paper... will require payment in conditions of health for service members, implications for their families, and the larger population beyond those service members and veterans spoken of as a focus.
1 .Development of drug formulary specific to Streptomyces s.
2. Research within Tropical medicine specific to pathogen-host via genomic means.
